No, never. Fruityloops can not work as talent. That's just an instrument, but without talent it's useless.

A list of hit songs or popular tunes with 12-sting guitar 6 Replies

I don't think there exists a list or catalog of songs that feature the 12-string guitar. One of the things that has made the classical guitar endure throughout the centuries is that there is a body...

First electric 12-string on record? 5 Replies

I'm wondering what was the first time an electric 12-string appeared on record. This has to be pre-1964, in other words before The Beatles and The Byrds started using their Rickenbackers. Any thoug...

Coming to a really strange realization

Have you ever known someone who was "famous" at one time, but their current circumstances never gave you any reason to know it? For example, about fifteen years ago I managed a music store and taught guitar lessons in a little town Alaska. An older gentleman came in to buy some guit… Continue

My Last.fm page

Hi everyone,

If you were around on the Internet way back in the early days, you might remember when MP3.com was the happening place. Well, it seems that they have spun off into Last.fm as a place for indie musicians to feature their music and get paid for the airplay. I recently set up my page with them. Some of you guys might be interested in doing the same. Here's the link to my page. Please check it out and listen to some of the tunes.… Continue

I tend to think of the 12-string guitar as more of a baritone instrument. Some folks like the jangly sound of a 12-string tuned to concert pitch. As for me, I like them tuned lower.

Years ago, low tuned 12-strings were almost the norm. First of all, the instruments themselves were not sturdy enough to handle the tension of all of those strings. The "Power" of the 12-String Guitar

People love the sound of the 12-string guitar, but they just don't know it. Most average listeners couldn't tell you the difference between the sound of a 6-string from a 12-string. (Even some novice guitarists can't!) I am always amazed at how many songs seem to have become hits primarily because the 12-string guitar gave them a sound that just stood out from the crowd.

In making my list of 12-string songs for the forum a little while ago, one of the songs that came to mind was the Beatles' "A… Continue
