A resource for lovers of the 12-string guitar
I arranged this tune while my wife was out on an errand and recorded it when she got home. It is still a bit raw. I was hesitant to post it this soon after arranging it because it could very well fill out with time. On the other hand, knowing my memory it could be lost if I didn't.
Lately, I've been tuning the guitar even lower than I usually do. I have had trouble maintaining my fingernails and I finally clipped them off in exasperation. Re-visiting the "all flesh" approach, I found that the softer attack works better with the strings a little looser.
This arrangement has nothing that would not work on a 6-string guitar, but it sits well on the 12-string nonetheless. I hope that you enjoy what I have done with it.
Played on my Mahogany Lowden cutaway in DADGAD lowered to Bb.
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
Refrain
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.
